Navin's Profile

January 11 and 12th:

- Oriented myself with the Xbee modules. Provisioned and configured two radios in a point-to-point network.
- After collecting all the necessary components for a basic prototype, we assembled the robot. It received WASD commands from a computer via Zigbee, and the robot moved foward, left, right and backwards accordingly.

January 14th:

- Met with the group to discuss future plans.

January 20th:

- Oriented myself with the grid sensors (read datasheets, connected them to the arduino to see what kind of values it gave, etc.)
- Planned out possible sensor locations on robot.

January 21st:

- Prepared for planning presentation and planning report.
- Made personal gantt chart and wrote introduction for the report.

January 24th:

- Installed grid sensors on robot and worked on code to have it follow the grid.

February 1st:

- Testing the robot on the competition grid. Further tweaking of the grid sensors.

February 15-17th:

- Helped group with receiver array assembly and design

February 26-28th:

- Helped group with receiver array and ball retrieval system.

March 2, 3rd:

- Researched and assembled the serial communication between the Arduino Mega and the Arduino Pro Mini. The Mega sends serial messages to the Mini and the Mini sends a confirmation via serial or an interrupt.

March 9, 10, 11th:

- Assembled a more refined version of the grid sensor level, it is now a more modular and robust design
- Tweaked the grid following code. Fixed a few issues such as overshooting and unreliable turning.
- Created and tested beta code to navigate to the beacons
- Created and tested beta code to grab ball from the beacon and leave the beacon.
