The functionality of the pre-programmed robot must include sensory detection, ball retrieval system, and wireless communication. Below is a list of the further definitions of each functionality.
(designed /constructed/Integrated /tested
1. Must use phototransistor to detect the grid and follow it(Tested)
o Has to be somewhat close to detect
o QRD 1114 x4
o Air/Black : Max Values
o White : Low Values
o Follow the grid through ranges of values in code
2. Must calculate distance traveled (Designed)
o Through the code
3. Must tilt the ball latch for the ball to drop down and the ball must land in the catcher (Tested)
o At the Beacon
o Elastics to hold the ball latch
o Detect the ball inside the catcher with micro switch
4. Must use IR sensors for the robot to communicate with the two beacons to determine direction to travel in (Tested)
o Real-time updates
o Receiver: 751-1023
o Transmitter:751-1209-ND
o The receivers and transmitter must be on the same level
5. Must wirelessly communicate with the farmer to give updates to ZigBee series 2 modules (Tested)
o WRL10414
6. Must be pre-programmed to perform autonomously to complete the four tasks (Tested)
o Must move by itself using wheels : DU-BRO
3.00 (must have good traction)
o Have its own power supply : LC18650
o Commissioning/Programming the Arduino Board (Pro Mini/Mega)
o One controller for motor loops (Mega), another for sensor loops (Mini)
7. Must have Proximity Sensor detect walls/obstacles (Tested)
o Avoid them
o Around 30cm
8. Must map out the arena with beacon location, obstacles, and past movements (Designed)
o Arduino Code : 2D Array
If the robot performs each of these functions properly, the robot would successfully rescue both sheeps and complete all four allotted tasks.
